A Better Way to Practice Medicine
Medicine That Starts With You
At Colorado Precision Medicine, healthcare begins with a simple principle: every patient is unique. Your genetics, medical history, lifestyle, environment, and personal goals all influence your health. That’s why we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all medicine.
Dr. Tereza Hubkova combines the strengths of Internal Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Functional Medicine, and Lifestyle Medicine to create personalized care plans grounded in scientific evidence. Our focus is not only on diagnosing and treating disease, but also on identifying opportunities to prevent illness, optimize health, and improve quality of life.
We Listen Before We Recommend
Exceptional healthcare begins with listening. We want to hear your story and understand your goals and your philosophy. Some patients prefer conventional, FDA-approved therapies. Others are interested in natural approaches or carefully selected emerging therapies supported by early evidence and clinical experience. Wherever you are on that spectrum, we listen first and develop recommendations that align with your goals, values, and comfort level.
Precision Through Better Information
The best medical decisions begin with better information. At Colorado Precision Medicine, we combine listening to your story with advanced testing to understand your health at a deeper level—not just diagnose a disease but uncover why it developed and how to prevent future illness.
Genetic testing is often an excellent place to start. Your genes provide valuable insights into your unique biology, including nutritional needs, detoxification pathways, tendency towards inflammation, metabolic characteristics, ability to handle oxidative stress and disease predispositions. Understanding these patterns allows us to develop more personalized recommendations tailored to your unique biology, health risks, and long-term goals.
We then integrate the insights from your genetic testing with attentive listening and carefully selected advanced laboratory testing to put the dots together and curate your action plan.
Prevention Is Better Than Treatment
Many chronic diseases begin silently, during a pre-symptomatic stage that can last years—or even decades—before symptoms develop. Today, advances in precision medicine allow us to detect many of these early biological changes through advanced laboratory testing and specialized imaging, creating opportunities for intervention when it is likely to have the greatest impact.
For example, autoantibodies such as ANA may be detectable years before autoimmune diseases like lupus become clinically apparent. Blood biomarkers associated with neurodegenerative diseases may become abnormal a decade or more before memory loss or other neurological symptoms appear. In cardiovascular disease, advanced imaging can identify vulnerable arterial plaque long before it causes a heart attack or stroke—when lifestyle changes and targeted therapies have the greatest opportunity to stabilize disease and reduce risk.
At Colorado Precision Medicine, we believe it makes far more sense to identify disease in its earliest, most treatable stage than to wait until symptoms develop and irreversible damage has already occurred. By combining careful listening with advanced diagnostics, we strive to uncover hidden risks early and create a personalized roadmap that helps you preserve health, extend vitality, and reduce your risk of future disease.
Evidence First. Individual Always.
Medicine is both a science and an art. At Colorado Precision Medicine, every recommendation reflects more than 20 years of clinical experience, the best available scientific evidence, and a deep understanding that every patient is biologically unique.
Whenever possible, we rely on treatments supported by high-quality scientific research. However, medicine does not always provide definitive answers, and patients cannot always wait decades for perfect studies to be completed. When appropriate, we may recommend therapies that have a strong biological rationale, an excellent safety profile, and promising early evidence—even if large clinical trials are still underway. This may include time-honored botanical medicines with centuries of safe use or carefully selected newer therapies when conventional options are limited or have been unsuccessful.
Every recommendation is individualized and made through shared decision-making, taking into account the potential benefits, risks, quality of evidence, your medical history, and your personal goals. Our commitment is to provide thoughtful, honest, and scientifically informed care—always placing your safety and well-being first.
Why Direct Pay?
For many years, I practiced medicine within the traditional insurance-based healthcare system. While I valued caring for my patients, I often found that administrative requirements and insurance restrictions limited the time I could spend with them and influenced medical decisions in ways that did not always reflect their individual needs.
Colorado Precision Medicine was founded on a different philosophy. Our direct-pay model removes many of those barriers, allowing me to focus on what matters most—understanding your health, identifying the root causes of illness, and developing a personalized plan tailored specifically to you.
Without the constraints of brief, insurance-driven appointments, we can take the time to have meaningful conversations, review your complete health history, thoughtfully interpret advanced diagnostics when appropriate, and create evidence-based recommendations that align with your goals and values.
Medical decisions at Colorado Precision Medicine are guided by what is in your best interest—not by reimbursement schedules or insurance coverage policies. This approach allows for longer appointments, greater continuity of care, and a true partnership focused on prevention, longevity, and lifelong health.
Although Colorado Precision Medicine does not bill insurance, many patients may use Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds for eligible services.
Direct pay allows us to return to the kind of medicine many patients are seeking—unhurried, personalized, physician-led care built on a long-term partnership focused on optimizing health rather than simply treating disease.
A Partnership Built on Trust
Your health is a journey, not a series of isolated office visits. At Colorado Precision Medicine, we believe the best outcomes are achieved when physician and patient work together as partners—curious, engaged, and committed to understanding the whole picture.
Think of us as co-detectives. We combine our medical expertise, more than 20 years of clinical experience, and advanced diagnostic tools with your observations, and your experiences. Together, we search for patterns, uncover root causes, and continually learn and finetune your action plan based on how your unique body responds over time.
We believe informed patients make the best partners. That’s why we place a strong emphasis on education, open communication, and shared decision-making. Every treatment plan is developed collaboratively, tailored to your values and priorities, and refined as new information emerges. Whether your goal is preventing disease, solving a complex health mystery, or optimizing your long-term health, our commitment is to walk alongside you—not simply as your physician, but as your trusted partner in achieving lifelong health and vitality.
